What are cookies?

It is a common practice for most websites. A cookie is a small text file, which is stored by a website on a buyer´s computer or mobile device while browsing it. With this file, a website keeps track of buyer´s steps and preferences for a certain period of time (such as login name, language, font size, and other view settings), so the buyer does not have to repeatedly enter these data while revisiting the website or browsing individual sites. Technically it is a series of codes, by which the browser collects and then sends information about the buyer´s behaviour back to the appropriate server. Cookies contain information about how long the browser should keep them (from one-off to several years). Cookies are not directly linked to the buyer´s name or e-mail address, but often contain login information to the system.
